Your visit runs on video; the data still has to be captured, signed and audited. Capture handles remote consent, phone questionnaires and clinician-entered forms in one study. It is not a video platform, and says so.

The buying problem
Telehealth tools are built for care delivery: scheduling, video and messaging. A research study needs different things from the same visit: informed consent that is documented, structured data entered against a protocol, a record of who changed what, and diaries between visits. Teams that try to run this on spreadsheets and survey links discover the gaps at the first audit or data cleaning pass.
Enterprise EDC systems solve these gaps, but they bring contracts, setup lead times and per-module charges that small telehealth studies rarely justify. The middle path is a self-serve platform that covers the study data layer and lets you keep your existing video tool. For the broader pattern, see EDC for remote clinical trials, EDC for decentralized clinical trials and software for remote clinical trials.
Be clear about scope. If your protocol depends on home nursing, courier logistics or integrated video visits in one platform, a fully decentralised vendor may fit better; decentralized clinical trial software compares the categories. Capture is the right fit when the visit happens on a call and the study team needs clean, auditable data from it.
The visit form
A clinician can complete the eCRF during or after the call. Edit checks flag values that break a rule, and calculated fields such as BMI appear read-only. When a participant self-measures at home, the form can record that the value was reported by the participant rather than measured by staff.

Generic categories. Choose by what the study must prove and what the team can run.
| Approach | What it gives you | Where it falls short | Typical fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spreadsheets and survey links | Fast, familiar | Weak audit trail, signatures and access control; reconciliation by hand | Pilots with no regulatory exposure |
| Institution-hosted research data capture | Capable and often free to the team | Depends on local hosting, validation and build queue. See Capture vs REDCap | Academic studies with strong local support |
| Enterprise EDC with modules | Broad feature set and services | Contracts, lead time and per-module cost | Large programmes |
| Fully decentralised platform | Video, home health and logistics in one | Heavier and costlier for small studies | Protocols built around home care |
| Capture (self-serve all-in-one) | Remote eConsent, phone ePRO, eCRFs, randomization, one audit trail; free sandbox | No video visits, no offline mode, no EHR integration | Small and mid-size remote and hybrid studies |
Capture is suitable for Phase 1, 2 and 3 studies. No competitor pricing or feature claims are made here.

Participant side
Consent without a clinic is where telehealth studies most often stumble. Capture's eConsent lets the participant read and sign on their own phone, with an email one-time code, and the investigator countersigns with password re-authentication; the document is fully executed only after countersignature. See remote patient consent for clinical trials, econsent for decentralized clinical trials and eConsent.
Between visits, a questionnaire opens on the participant's own phone through a link, without an app, and reminders go by email or SMS. See BYOD ePRO without an app download, how to collect patient data remotely in clinical trials and ePRO. If your protocol includes ring data, Capture supports a native Oura connection; see Oura Ring clinical trial integration. No other device is claimed on this page.
Buying checklist
Decide whether you keep your existing tool or need video inside the platform.
Verified participant signature, investigator countersignature and an exportable PDF.
Test a visit form on a laptop and a tablet.
Phone link or app; reminders; what the team sees when responses stop.
Consent, forms and diaries in one record. See audit trail software.
Offline entry, EHR integration and languages: ask directly.
Hosting region and role-based access to identifiers. See HIPAA-compliant clinical trial software.
Setup fee, term and per-module charges, in writing.
No. Capture covers remote consent, home questionnaires, site and clinician forms, randomization and kit management. Run video visits on your existing telehealth tool.
Use a platform that links consent, clinician-entered visit forms and participant diaries in one audited record. Capture does that without an enterprise contract.
Yes. They sign on their own phone with an email one-time code and the investigator countersigns with password re-authentication.
No. Questionnaires open through a link on their own phone.
No EHR integration is claimed. Clinician-entered forms capture the study data directly.
No. Offline entry is not available today.
Yes. Capture is suitable for Phase 1, 2 and 3 studies.
