Add a MedDRA dictionary for coding adverse events
Open your name at the top right > Sponsors & MedDRA, create the sponsor, then on the MedDRA tab upload the MedDRA English ASCII release zip with its version number and confirm your organization holds a MedDRA licence.
Where to find it
Your name (top right) > Sponsors & MedDRA
Before you start
- Your organization holds a valid MedDRA licence from the MSSO. Capture does not supply MedDRA.
- You have the MedDRA English ASCII release zip (up to 200 MB).
Upload a release
Click your name at the top right and choose Sponsors & MedDRA.
Click New Sponsor, fill Sponsor name and click Create.
Skip this if the sponsor already exists. You can only manage sponsors you created.
Open the MedDRA tab.
Fill Version (for example 27.0) and choose the Release zip.
Tick the licence confirmation and click Upload & index.
Indexing takes about a minute.
Link the study to its sponsor and MedDRA version in Settings > General > Sponsor & MedDRA dictionary, and switch on Code adverse events with MedDRA, while the study is still a draft. Under Versions you can archive an old release or fill in higher-level terms across events already coded.
