Record concomitant medications
Open the participant and click Add ConMed (or the + in the Casebook ConMed column). Enter the medication, category, indication, dose, frequency, route and dates, and click Add medication. Each medication is its own audited entry.
Where to find it
Participant page > Concomitant Medications > Add ConMed
Before you start
- You are site staff with data-entry rights: Principal Investigator, Sub-Investigator or Study Coordinator.
- The study has a concomitant medications log form (log forms).
Add a medication
On the participant page, click Add ConMed, or the + in the Casebook ConMed column.
Enter the Medication Name and Category: Prior, Concomitant or Rescue.
Choose the Indication from the participant's medical history or adverse events, or type it.
Enter the Dose, Unit, Frequency, Route and dose form.
Enter the Start Date and End Date, leaving unknown parts blank, or switch on Ongoing medication.
Click Add medication.
You see "Medication logged" and the Casebook count updates.
Edit or delete a medication
Click Edit on the row, change it and save with a reason. To delete an entry, use its delete button and give a reason; the entry stays in the audit trail. View audit history shows every change. The visit panel lists the medications active at each visit.
Questions
Why must the indication link to medical history or an AE?
Some studies require every medication to be explained by a recorded condition or adverse event, so the data stays consistent. If yours does, add the condition or AE first.
