How automatic queries from edit checks work
When a site submits a form, Capture runs the form's edit checks. Each value that breaks a rule gets an Auto Query raised by System. When the site saves a corrected value that passes every rule, the auto query closes by itself.
When an auto query is raised
- Edit checks run on every submitted save (not on drafts).
- One query is raised per value that breaks a rule, with the rule's message and a lightning icon. Opened By shows System.
- After saving, the site sees a message such as "1 auto-query edit check(s) fired".
- Empty answers are skipped, and a value that already has an open auto query does not get a second one.
How an auto query closes
Correct the value in the form and submit it again. If the new value passes all its rules, the query closes automatically ("auto-query closed - value corrected") and the thread records the old and new value. If the value is correct as entered, respond to the query to explain why; a data manager or CRA then closes it.
