Where to find it

Settings > Sites

Before you start

  • You can manage sites: Study Owner, Study Manager or Administrator.

Add a site

  1. Open Settings > Sites and click Add Site.

  2. Pick an existing site, or click Create New Site and fill Site Name, Principal Investigator, Country and City.

  3. Enter the Site number for this study, for example 01.

Participant IDs at this site are built from this number, so it cannot change once the first participant is enrolled.

  4. Click Add to Study or Create & Add.

    The site shows "Not activated".

Activate the site

  1. On the site card, click Activate site.

  2. In Activation requirements, record each item with the pencil: IRB/EC approved, contract executed, site initiated / SIV completed and delegation log complete, plus any items your study requires.

The same checklist is on Site readiness if the CTMS module is on.

  3. When everything is done, click Activate site and then Confirm activation.

You see "Site activated: The site can now screen, enrol and enter data." The activation is kept in the audit trail.

Pause, deactivate or close a site

  • Controls on the site card: switch Stop Screening, Stop Randomization or Pause Shipments on or off.
  • Deactivate: stops screening, enrollment, randomization and data entry at once. Give a reason of at least 5 characters.
  • Close Site (in the ⋮ menu): records that close-out is complete. It cannot be undone; a closed site cannot be reopened.
  • Set Enrollment Target (in the ⋮ menu): see enrollment progress.
