Switch study modules on or off
Open Settings > General and scroll to Modules. Flip the switch next to a module to show or hide its pages for the whole study team. Switching a module off hides it; nothing is deleted.
Where to find it
Settings > General > Modules
Before you start
- You can manage study settings: Study Owner, Study Manager or Administrator.
Switch a module
Open Settings. The General tab opens first.
Scroll to the Modules card.
Flip the switch on the module you want.
The change applies to everyone on the study straight away.
What each module adds
| Module | What appears when it is on |
|---|---|
| CRO collaboration | Shared team tasks and discussions, @mentions, task rules, and a training oversight log in Settings > Team & training. |
| CTMS | The CTMS menu: Trial overview, Milestones, Site readiness, Enrollment, Monitoring and Quality. |
| Inventory & IMP Management | The Inventory menu and Settings > Inventory for kits, shipments, dispensing and destruction (load the kit list). |
| Randomization | Randomization settings and the Randomize action on participants. |
| Participant self-enrollment (ePRO) | A public sign-up link so participants can enroll themselves (share a sign-up link). |
| App access codes | The App codes page for giving participants app access codes. |
When a module cannot be switched off
- Inventory & IMP Management stays on once kits exist: "Cannot disable - kits exist in inventory".
- Randomization stays on once anyone has been randomized: "Cannot disable - participants have been randomized".
- Switching off CTMS or CRO collaboration only hides the menus. Tasks, comments and records are kept, and they come back when you switch the module on again.
Questions
Does switching a module off delete data?
No. It hides the menus and pages. Modules that already hold data, such as inventory with kits or randomization with randomized participants, cannot be switched off at all.
