Where to find it

Settings > Launch Study

Before you start

Check pre-launch readiness

In Settings > General > Study Status Controls, open Pre-launch readiness. It shows Ready to launch, Ready with warnings or Launch blocked:

  • At least one site activated (blocks launch).
  • Consent form approved (blocks launch when you use in-app eConsent).
  • All forms in the Schedule approved (a warning only: the study can launch, but each unapproved form stays blocked for data entry until it is approved).

Launch the study

  1. Open Settings and click Launch Study.

  2. Check the readiness items in the Launch study dialog.

  3. Read the statement "I authorise the launch of this study for enrolment and data collection." and type your Password.

  4. Click Sign and launch.

You see "Study launched". The launch date and your signature are recorded in the audit trail.

After launch

  • Sites can screen, enroll and enter data, and participant emails and reminders start.
  • Set-up changes need a reason and your signature (change a live study).
  • The participant language is locked for good, and schedule defaults become read-only.
  • Pause Study returns the study to draft: enrollment stops and no new notifications go out. To go live again, launch and sign again.

Questions

Why is Launch Study greyed out?

A blocking item is open: usually no activated site, or an unapproved consent form. Hover over the button or open Pre-launch readiness to see which.

Can I test the study before launch?

Yes, that is what draft mode is for. See draft and live studies.
